TDP can save Rs 1000 crore in Telangana projects
Hyderabad, Mar 9 (UNI) The opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Y Dayakar today said the TDP would save Rs 1000 crore public money if the government permitted them to construct irrigation projects in Telangana region.
Addressing the press in Assembly premises, Mr Dayakar alleged that the Congress government awarded the project works to the contractors with high estimates which would cause a burden of Rs 1000 crore on the state exchequer.
The TDP was ready to take up the construction of projects and save Rs 1000 crore, he said.
Accepting the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President K Keshava Rao's suggestion that the Sripada Sagar project works would be awarded to the TDP workers if the party high command accepted to take up the works with an addition of Rs 10 to Rs 1344 crore estimates, Mr Dayakar said TDP was ready to construct the project at an estimate of Rs 1344 crore. The project works had been awarded to the contractors with an estimation of Rs 1750 crore.
