Tata Indicom launches "Walky with FM"
Chennai, mar 9 (UNI) India's premier telecom service provider Tata Indicom today launched the revolutionary ''Walky with FM'' providing mobility with entertainment, and was looking at an increase in two per cent market share in Tamil Nadu.
''Walky with FM'' was launched by Radio Jockey and singer Suchitra at a colourful function in the presence of Tata Teleservices Tamil Nadu circle General manager, marketing, Ramesh Thondapi here today.
The new offer was targetted at housewives, shopkeepers and the youth as for the first time in India, phone users can enjoy listening to their favourite FM stations exclusively on Tata Indicom phone.
Available on the Axesstel P830 instrument at an initial offer of Rs 2153, which included Rs 500 refundable security deposit, the new "Walky with FM" offers the customers choice of ten radio stations, polyphonic ringtones, speaker phone, internet capability, group messaging, dual language menu and phone book.
Replying to questions, Mr Ramesh said the customer base of Tata Indicom in Tamil Nadu was around six lakh. Of this four lakh was in fixed wireless segment.
''We hope the new offer will increase our customer base in the coming months and we are looking at a two per cent growth in the market share from the present ten per cent'', he added.
