Sedition case registered against Mann

Fatehgarh Sahib, Mar 9 (UNI) The Punjab Police has registered a sedition case against Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) president and former Member Parliament Simranjit Singh Mann for making inflammatory statements.

The case was registered at the Bassi Pathana police station under sections 124-A, 153-A, 153-B, 505 of the IPC, police today said.

The case was registered following Mr Mann's views on a seprate Sikh state in a Talk Show hosted by a a private TV channel recently.

Another prominent person who featured in the Talk Show was Khalsa Raj party chief Jagjit Singh Chauhan who was arrested by the Amritsar police yesterday on similar charges.
