SAD regrets rejection of Sarabjit's mercy petition by Pak SC

New Delhi, Mar 9 (UNI) The Shiromani Akali Dal today regretted the decision of the Pakistan Supreme Court to reject the mercy petition of Sarabjit, presently lodged in a Pakistan jail, and urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to intervene to secure Sarabjit's release.

In a statement issued here, the All India General Secretary Onkar Singh Thapar, describing Sarabjit as innocent, urged the Prime Minister to initiate diplomatic efforts to secure the release of Sarabjit from the Pakistani jail.
