Rs 100 cr for IISc modernisation
New Delhi, Mar 9 (UNI) The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs today approved Rs 100 crore for the modernisation and restructuring of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
Rs 62 crore would be for 2005-06 and Rs 38 crore for 2006-07, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi told reporters after the CCEA meeting.
Of the total amount, Rs 55 crore would go for the development of laboratory infrastructure, Rs 20 crore for instrumentation for cutting edge research including computers and communication, Rs ten crore for construction of international visitors' hostel and visiting faculty houses, and Rs 25 lakh each for two new facilities.
