RBI to issue Rs 20 denomination notes shortly

Mumbai, Mar 9 (UNI) Reserve Bank of India will shortly issue Rs 20 denomination bank notes with inset letter E' in both numbering panels in Mahatma Gandhi Series, bearing the signature of RBI Governor Dr Y.V. Reddy, a release here today said.

According to the release, except for the change in the inset letter, the design of these notes to be issued now will be similar in all respects to the banknotes issued earlier in Mahatma Gandhi Series.

All banknotes in the denomination of Rs 20 issued by the Bank in the past will continue to be legal tender, the release added.
