Rains, thundershowers likely over next 48 hrs

Pune, Mar 9 (UNI) Day temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in Assam and Meghalaya, Jharkhand, Uttarancha, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan and above normal in Tripura, west Bengal and Sikkim, coastal Orissa, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Tamil Nadu.

They were below normal in east Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat state and Telangana, but normal over the rest of the country.

Night temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in west Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, west Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujrat Region and Marathwada and were above normal in Assam and Meghalaya, Tripura, Orissa, east Uttar Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, Madhya Mahrashtra, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat state and at isolated places in Arunachal pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland,Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, west Bengal and Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttaranchal, Himalchal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep. Mainly dry weather will prevail in Orissa, Telangana, Rayalaseema and Andaman and Nicobar.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in west Madhya Pradesh and at a few places Saurashtra and Kutch.

Rain or thundershowers have also occurred at isolated places in Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, west Rajasthan, east Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gujrat Region, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.
