Poor official response in Assembly session

Aizawl, Mar 09: The official gallery at the Mizoram assembly house today (Mar 9, 2006) wore a deserted look with only two department officials present in the left and right galleries.

Voicing concern over this, assembly speaker Lalchamliana told the ministers to make sure that the department heads and secretaries, particularly those whose department concerned subjects are discussed in the house, are present during the session.

However, on the first day of the session, the official gallery was well occupied with faces of chief secretary Haukhuma Hauzel, pricinpal secretary Vanhela Pachau, law secretary P Chakraborty seen on the front row.
