People from various strata join hands to promote sports, culture

New Delhi, Mar 9 (UNI) People from all strata of society including administrative officers, doctors, sportspersons and women have joined together to form an association to promote sports and culture in the country.

The Indian Sports and Cultural Society, formed with the sole aim of promoting sports and culture in the country by helping budding sportspersons and artists achieve higher ambitions in life, was launched in the capital on the International Women's Day yesterday.

The society was inaugurated by the Chairperson of the Children Film Society Nafisa Ali at a function at Parliament Street where Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Delhi, U P Singh, was the Guest of honour.

A blood donation camp was also organised on the occasion by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences with Mr U P Singh becoming the first blood donor.

Persons from the Income Tax department, Customs and Excise department, doctors of the Delhi Medical association and prominent sportspersons and women have joined together to form the association.
