Offence registered against Anees Ahmed

Nagpur, Mar 9 (UNI) The police today registered an offence under the Atrocities Act against Maharashtra Animal Husbandry Minister Anees Ahmed here for allegedly beating and hurling casteist remarks against the complainant.

Police said Babali Meshram, who is personal assistant to MLA Nitin Raut, filed the complaint yesterday and acting on it they registered the offence.

The complainant, charged that Anees Ahmed beat him up and hurled casteist remarks at him, when he had gone to District Collector Sanjay Mukherjee's office to wish him on his birthday.

When contacted, Mr Ahmed denied the charges saying he neither thrashed Meshram nor used any abusive language against him.
