Nayan Patel elected President, Niraj Bajaj, Vice President of IMC.
Mumbai, Mar 9 (UNI) Nayan Patel, Executive Director of Patel Extrusion Group, world's largest manufacturers of decorated Aluminium Collapsible Tubes, was unanimously elected as the President, Indian Merchants'Chamber (IMC) for the year 2006-2007 while Niraj Bajaj, Managing Director, Mukand Ltd. was elected Vice President of the Chamber.
They will take over the reins of the chamber at a formal function in April, a press release said.
Patel succeeds IMC President Rajesh Kapadia.
Niraj Bajaj , who is a recipient of Arjuna and Shiv Chhatrapati Awards , is currently also on the Board of Directors of Bajaj Group Companies.
He was selected by World Economic Forum, as one of the ''Global Leaders for Tomorrow''. He has been Chairman of the Alloy Steel Producers' Association of India and President of the Indian Stainless Steel Development Association (ISSDA).
Having travelled widely, the newly elected President Nayan Patel, has planned and implemented many joint venture projects and has headed organisations like Pharmaceutical and Allied Manufacturers' and Distributors' Association Limited, Mumbai. (PAMDAL), Bombay Industries Association, (BIA) and Aerosol Promotion Council of India, Mumbai. (APC).
He is also the Director of Vividhlaxi Audyogik Samshodhan Vikas Kendra (VASVIK), which has instituted seven annual Industrial Research Awards and a special award for Women Scientists. He is also connected with many educational and social institutions. He was honoured with the ''Young Entrepreneur'' award for the year 1996 by The Priyadarshini Academy.
