Mah to strengthen mother-children health mission
Mumbai, Mar 9 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today said the government has decided to strengthen Rajmata Jijai Mother-Children Health Mission in an attempt to free the state of malnutrition.
Speaking at a meeting of the steering committee of the mission, Mr Deshmukh said the mission's work in tribal-dominated Nandurbar, Nasik, Gadchiroli, Amravati and Thane has been satisfactory.
He also said that all children below the age of six years would be given anti-germ medicine on May 1 and November 14.
It was also informed that new 12864 anganwadis had been sanctioned in the state and some more would be sanctioned by the Central government.
