Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw voted as 'Most influential' in Bio-Business

Mumbai, Mar 9 (UNI) Biocon CEO Dr Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw has been named as ''most influential'' enterprenuer Bio-Business in the world (outside USA and Europe).

She was voted as ''The most influential'' in Bio-Business (outside the US and Europe) in a poll conducted by the international journal ''Nature Biotechnology'', belonging to the Nature Publishing Group of New York based Nature America, Inc.

Other notable winners include Bill&Melinda Gates, Dan Vassella (Novartis) and Arthur Levinson (Genentech)'' ''I consider this international acknowledgement as recognition of the potential and promise that Biotechnology holds for our country and I accept this on behalf of the entire Indian Biotech community'' said Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw.

Last year Dr Shaw made it to Fortune's list of the 50 most powerful women in international business. A recent survey by a leading Indian business magazine declared her as one of the most powerful women in Indian business.
