Israel, Japan condemn Varanasi explosions
New Delhi, Mar 9 (UNI) Israel and Japan today strongly condemned the bomb explosions in Varanasi on Tuesday saying such acts could not be justified in any manner and the perpetrators should be brought to justice.
A statement released by the Japanese Embassy here said the Japanese government would continue to strengthen cooperation with India to tackle international terrorism.
A statement released by the Isareli embassy said the heinous attacks were carried out with the clear intention of offending religious sensibilities among pilgrims in one of the most sacred sites in India.
''It is up to all of us in the international community to fight terrorism in any and all forms. Israel's special sensitivity to holy sites is well known in this regard. We believe that there must be a unanimous call from all religious leaders that emphasises the universal nature of religious sites, in the hope of preventing similar attacks in future,'' the statement added.
