Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 9 (UNI) ''Hindu Aikyavedi'' General Secretary Marad T Suresh today urged the government to make public the recommendations of the Thomas P Joseph Commission on the Marad carnage.

Talking to mediapersons here, he said it was quite unfortunate that the Commission report was not tabled to the State Assembly, even though it was presented to the government during the last Assembly session.

Mr Suresh asked the government to submit the report and discuss it in the special Assembly session on March 14 and 15 to debate the Mullaperiyar issue.

The Aikyavedi submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Speaker Therambil Ramakrishnan and Leader of the Oppostion V S Achuthanandan in this regard.

Alleging increased communal friction and terrorist activities in the state, he said it was quite necessary to disclose the Commission report and implement the recommendations.

Mr Suresh said reports had come out that the recent twin-blasts in Kozhikode had a connection with those involved in the Marad incident.

The Hindu Aikyavedi leadership meeting at Guruvayur on March 25 and 26 would chalk out future course of action in this regard, he added.
