HC ruling on reservation/assignment of cane areas

Allahabad, Mar 9 (UNI) Allahabad High Court has ruled that in the matter of reservation/assignment of cane areas, individual cane growers had no role when they were members of cooperative society, and as such neither appeal nor writ petition at the behest of them was maintainable.

They have to espouse their cause through their respective cooperative society, the court added.

The judgement was passed by Justice V K Shukla on a writ petition filed by Rajesh and others challenging the decision of cane commissioner reserving certain areas for M/s Bajaj Hindustan Ltd, Muzaffarnagar and further that they might be permitted to supplying sugarcame to M/s Upper Doab Sugar Mill, Muzaffarnagar.
