Foreign visitors to India go up by 25 per cent
New Delhi, Mar 9 (UNI) There was a 25 per cent increase in the number of foreign visitors to India in the recent years, the government said.
According to the Union Home Ministry, nearly 3.5 million foreigners visited India in 2004, the year for which the latest figures are available, compared to 2.8 million in 2003.
The number of visitors in 2002 was almost 2.5 million, Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal told the Lok Sabha during Question Hour.
