Five-of family killed in mishap

Viskhapatnam, Mar 9 (UNI) Five members of a family, including two children and two women, were killed and four injured when a van rammed into a sand-laden tractor near Yelamanchali, about 65 km from here, this morning.

Police said the victims belonging to the city were on a pilgrimage to Annavaram when the speeding van collided with the tractor coming in the wrong direction on National Highway five.

While four persons were killed on the spot, a two-year-old child died in the hospital. The injured were shifted to King George Hospital here.

The deceased were identified as Shreya Lavanya (2), Usha Rani (27), Rajeshwari (50), Bhavani Shankar (10) and R Danaiah (35).
