Dismissal of 3 constables recommended in scribe attack case

Fatehpur, Mar 9 (UNI) The district police has recommended dismissal of three police constables in connection with the attack on a UNI journalist and his brother yesterday.

The trio, attached to police lines, had accompanied the two undertrials, who shot at local UNI stringer Hanumant Singh and his brother Balwant.

While Balwant later succumbed to bullet wounds, Hanumant was admitted to a hospital in Allahabad in serious condition.

Two undertrial, who were lodged in district jail, were escorted by the constables on pretext to undergo treatment in Allahabad. They went to a brick kiln and demanded money from the scribe and his brother. On refusal, they shot at them.

Later, the locals beat to death the undertrials, who were historysheeters and had several cases against them.

An FIR had been registered at Dhata police station against the constables.
