CPI(M) allotted 13 seats
Chennai, Mar 9 (UNI) The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), heading the six-party Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA), today finalised seat sharing agreement with the Communist Party of India (Marxist), allotting 13 seats to it.
DMK President M Karunanidhi and CPI(M) state unit secretary N Varadarajan signed the agreement at DMK headquarters 'Anna Arivalayam' here, after the final round of talks.
The CPI(M), which was in alliance with the AIADMK in the 2001 assembly elections, had contested eight seats and emerged victorious in six.
However, it, quit the alliance and joined the DMK led DPA, prior to the May 2004 Lok Sabha elections.
