Court allows Sanjay Dutt to travel abroad

Mumbai, Mar 9 (UNI) A TADA court here today allowed Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt to visit abroad for participating in the shooting of Hindi film 'Anthony Kaun Hai' on various terms and conditions.

Designated Terrorist and Disruptive Activities Act Court Judge P D Kode granted the actor permission to visit Bangkok from March 11 to 21.

Granting the permission, the court directed Dutt to furnish his travel itinary and local contact number to the registrar of TADA court in advance.

The court also ordered the filmstar not to contact any absconding accused on phone or physically while in abroad, failing which the bail granted to him would be cancelled.

His lawyer Adv Farhana Shah, who had moved an application on behalf of his client, was directed to remain present in the court during the period when the actor would be away.

Dutt, who is an accused in the 1993 serial bomb blast case, was ordered by the Supreme Court, while granting conditional bail a few years ago, that he should not leave Mumbai without obtaining permission from the trial court.

In the past too, he was allowed to visit abroad with the direction that he would not tamper with evidence.
