Come out with irigation scheme, name it after Rahul: BJP tells govt

New Delhi, Mar 9 (UNI) Senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha today took a swipe at the UPA government, saying it should come out with a ''Sampoorna Sinchayee Yojana'' (Complete Irrigation Plan) and name it after Rahul Gandhi.

''Come out with a Sampoorna Sinchayee Yojana...Call it Rahul Gandhi Sinchayee Yojana or whatever you like'' and that will take water to the agriculture sector, the former Finance Minister in the NDA government said in the Rajya Sabha while initiating a discussion on the Budget proposals.

He said the Finance Minister (P Chidambaram) had said earlier that five lakh water bodies would be renovated all over the country to be connected with the agriculture sector.

However, only 20,000 water bodies had been identified so far, Mr Sinha said.
