BJP delegation demands removal of illegal structures
Mumbai, Mar 9 (UNI) Maharashtra BJP unit today alleged that land mafia has erected at least 500 illegal structures on the banks of the Mithi river.
Former Bharatiya Janata Party MP Kirit Somaiya told reporters that a delegation, led by senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde, had called on Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh in this regard, who has asked the officials to evict all the illegal structures there.
The delegation also drew Mr Deshmukh's attention to the government order, under which nearly 1,000 acre developed land was declared as jungle in the eastern and western suburbs of Mumbai, jeopardising the future of nearly 30,000 flat owners living in there. To which, Mr Deshmukh assured that he would ask the officials to look into the issue, he added.
