Kaithal, Mar 9 (UNI) Congress MP Kuldip Bishnoi today sought to put at rest all rumours that his father and former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal, the President of the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC), was leaving the party and joining the BJP.

''There is no truth in this as the HPCC president has full faith in the leadership of Congress Chief Mrs Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh'', Mr Bishnoi and younger son of Mr Bhajan Lal said while talking to media persons here.

The statement by Mr Bishnoi assumes significance as Mr Bhajan lal did not attend the 'Navnirman Rally' organised by the Congress at Hisar on March 5 on the completion of one year of the government headed by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

Mr Bishnoi said Mr Bhajan Lal would be organising a rally very soon under the banner of the Congress. This rally would prove that the former Chief Minister was still a mass leader and it would also enthuse party Congress workers, he added.

Referring to the 'Navnirman Rally,' he said it was time for introspection and not for celebrations for the Congress party. After completing one year in power in the state, a lot of promises made to the people of the state have to be fulfilled, he added.

Mr Bishnoi said the state was facing a number of grave problems and sincere efforts should be made to tackle these so as to win the confidence of the people. He said people wanted results and being a sincere Congressman it was his duty to bring these problems to the notice of the state government and the Congress high command .

The MP stressed the need to solve the SYL canal issue at the earliest as the Congress was in power at the Centre as well as in Punjab and Haryana.
