About Rs 77 cr more for sericulture project

New Delhi, Mar 9 (UNI) The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs today approved extra Rs 76.99 crore for additional inputs to the Catalytic Development Programme of sericulture sector.

The cost of the scheme in the Xth plan would thus be raised from Rs 180.98 crore to Rs 257.97 crore, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi told reporters after the CCEA meeting.

The revision is being taken up due to expanding programmes of bivoltine silk as well as Vanya silk (non-mulberry), and recent induction of new technologies.
