Varanasi blasts echo in Delhi Assembly
New Delhi, Mar 8 (UNI) The Delhi Assembly today adopted a resolution condemning the Varanasi bomb blasts and observed two-minute silence before adjourning for an hour in memory of those killed in the terrorist attacks.
The House witnessed pandemonium as soon as Question Hour began with opposition BJP members seeking an adjournment of the entire day's sitting.
Later, the opposition BJP members were expelled from the House for three days after Finance Minister A K Walia brought a government resolution to this effect to ensure smooth functioning of the Assembly.
Unless the order gets revoked, the opposition benches will remain empty, probably for the first time, when the budget is presented tomorrow.
