Urban Employment

New Delhi, Mar 8 (UNI) Mr Ranjit Issar, a 1972 batch IAS officer, today assumed charge as Secretary of the Urban Employment and Poverty Alleviation Ministry.

Mr Issar, who belongs to Haryana Cadre, succeeds Mr Chitra Chopra who took voluntary retirement following her selection as member in the Central Administrative Tribunal, Principal Bench, Delhi.

Mr Issar had been an Additional Secretary in the Defence Ministry.
