Two militants gunned down in Delhi
New Delhi, Mar 8: Two Bangladesh-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants were gunned down in an encounter with police in Bawana area of North Delhi early today (Mar 8, 2006), police said.
In an encounter, which took place at 0545 hrs at Holambi Kalan, under Bawana police station, Gulam Yazdani(28) and his unidentified associate, were gunned down, said Joint Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Karnal Singh.
''Two weapons, from which they fired at police, and a car in which they were travelling, has been seized''.
''Yazdani, who was from Hyderabad, had been wanted in several cases.'' '' We are waiting for the crime branch to identify the second person,'' Mr Singh added.
