Two exclusive battalions for NBC disaster management by CISF: DG

New Delhi, Mar 8 (UNI) Two exclusive battalions are being raised by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) to handle nuclear and biological disaster besides other such exigencies.

These battalions would be ready by the end of this year, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Director General S I S Ahmad told mediapersons.

Of these more than 800 personnel have already been trained in CSSR and MFR, he said.

''Our instructors at National Industrial Security Academy (NISA) - Hyderabad are the ones who impart training in Nuclear and Biological weapons.'' Soon training facilities at NISA would be upgraded to international standards whose benefit would reach to not just CISF men but also other forces, Mr Ahmad added.

On the force taking up VIP security, the DG said presently 17 VIPs were being provided security by the CISF.

''We are upgrading our skills with the help of Israeli experts and have already trained 1,600 personnel for VIP security.'' Details on us taking the 'X' and 'Y' level security were being worked out and this were in final stages, Mr Ahmad added.
