Security surrounding Temples and sensitive places beefed up

Mumbai, Mar 8 (UNI) As precautionary measures owing to yesterdays blast at Sankat Mochan temple Varanasi and other places in Uttar Pradesh, city police has beefed up security arrangement surrounding temples and sensitive places in the metropolis.

Security has been beefed up at Siddhivinayak, Mahalaxmi, Babulnath temple and other public places and devotees have to go through fool-proof checking, police said.

Apart from the temples, security has also been tightened at sensitive places like American consulate, Matoshree residence of Shiv Sena Chief Bal Thackeray and others.

The Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) and special team has been deployed near the temples and major public places, police added.
