Official trapped by ACB
Hyderabad, Mar 8 (UNI) Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths trapped Mr Ganta Sambasiva Rao, a Mandal Revenue Officer in West Godavari District, at his office when he demanded and accepted Rs 4,000 as illegal gratification from complainant M Satyanarayana, for settling a land dispute.
Rao was later produced before the Court of Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases at Vijayawada, an ACB release here today said.
In another case, ACB officials today conducted simultaneous searches at the residence of Mr Y C Subba Rayudu, Deputy Executive Engineer, Panchayat Raj, Alur Sub-Division at Adoni, Kurnool District and also the residence of his father-in-law at Bellery in Karnataka and his relatives in Kurnool District.
The AO was found in possession of a House at Bellary, an apartment at Kurnool, house-site in Kurnool District, Agricultural land of ten acre in Joladarsi Village, Koilakuntla Mandal in Kurnool District, household articles worth Rs three lakh, bonds and fixed deposits worth about Rs four lakh totalling around Rs 40 lakh.
The AO was arrested. He will be produced before the Additional Special Judge for ACB cases here, the release added.
