New NCM Chief assumes charge

New Delhi, Mar 8 (UNI) Former Aligarh Muslim University Vice-Chancellor Mohammad Hamid Ansari has assumed charge as the new chairman of the National Commission for Minorities.

He was appointed to the post earlier this month in place of Mr Tarlochan Singh, who finished his three-year term last month.

An official statement said members Harcharan Singh Josh and Lama Chosphel Zotpa also assumed office on Monday last.
