Mexican Foreign Minister telephones Kasuri

Islamabad, Mar 8 (UNI) Mexican Foreign Minister Luis Ernesto Derbez today telephoned his Pakistani counterpart Khurshid M Kasuri and exchanged views on a number of issues, including the UN reforms.

The Mexican Foreign Minister also discussed Peace-Building Commission, ECOSOC and management reforms with Mr Kasuri.

Both countries are members of the United For Consensus Group on making Security Council more representative, democratic and accountable.

Pakistan and Mexico strongly believe that the UN should not have any more permanent members and if an expansion is made, it should be in the non-permanent category.

The two Ministers discussed the latest development concerning Human Rights Council and agreed to continue to coordinate their position in this regard.
