Marlabs forays into Legal Processes Outsourcing

Bangalore, Mar 8 (UNI) Marlabs Inc., a fast growing provider of technology services and solutions to select verticals, today formally announced its foray into Legal Process Outsourcing (LPO) business by setting up a dedicated Centre here.

Anticipating to encash on a multi-billion Dollar opportunity provided by LPO, the company expected to ramp up its headcount to 500 by the end of 2007.

In tune with the current wave in the industry to move up the value chain, the new Marlabs foray into LPO would provide high-end decision support to law firms and professionals in the US on litigated cases depending on the information available.

In a release here, Marlabs Inc., Founder and Chief Executive Officer Siby Antony said most legal professionals spend a majority of their time deciding about cases and doing background work with hardly any time for meetings or court appearances. More so in the area of litigations, where right decisions on the case like options for an out of the court settlement can be immensely beneficial. Such decisions need in-depth knowledge of the case, an idea of relevant judicial pronouncements and a quick electronic discovery process.

''We hope to build on the initial expertise our team has built-up in this area to capture a significant share of this nascent, but highly potential market.'' The new LPO Centre would entail an investment of US dollar four to five million and Marlabs was betting on LPO to increase its business overall as well as its offshore presence in India. The Centre, which was already functional here, had 100 professionals on its rolls. Having strong software development capabilities in the US and India to service its large clients world-wide, Marlabs believed it could add value to this LPO activity with in-house software, thereby reducing dependency on third parties.

Marlabs solutions for LPO include litigation management portals document management systems, legal front office systems, data conversion and mining, claims management systems and infrastructure support solutions.
