Bangalore, Mar 8 (UNI) The Karnataka High Court today directed the state government to file its reply by March 13 to a writ petition filed questioning the alleged demolition and possession of certain buildings by the State Muzrai Department authorities.

In his petition, Mohd Siddique from Chikmagalur had questioned the alleged demolition of buildings in the Bababudan Giri-Sir Guru Dattatreya Peetha. The petition was pending since last year.

In the meanwhile, the 'Sajjada Nasheen' of the Peetha had filed an application seeking a direction to the authorities concerned to provide some facilities for the three-day annual URS celebrations beginning from March 16.

He said he had already submitted a letter to the Deputy Commissioner in this regard. However, he did not receive any response from the authorities and hence he had filed an application before the court.

The Bench, comprising Chief Justice Cyriac Joseph and Mr Justice K Sridhara Rao, adjourned the hearing on the application to March 13.
