Dalmiya gets stay on BCCI showcause notice

Kolkata, Mar 8 (UNI) The city civil court today passed a stay order on the showcause notice given to former BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya by the Indian cricket board.

Sixth division bench judge Probir Kumar Sarkar of the city civil court today passed the judgement in Mr Dalmiya's favour following a move made here today.

Renowned legal expert Siddhartha Shankar Roy, A Chatterjee and Mr A Banerjee moved the court in Mr Dalmiya's favour. Advocate Ranjan Bachhawat represented BCCI.

The BCCI lawyer tried to intervene to stop the passing of the injunction but the ruling came in Mr Dalmiya's favour.

The stay order gives Mr Dalmiya some time and prevents BCCI from making any move on the notice.

The showcause notice served by BCCI gave Mr Dalmiya 15 days time to respond.

Mr Dalmiya had, however, denied all allegations and furnished documents supporting his cause.
