Court permits interrogation of Nayak
Mumbai, Mar 8 (UNI) Special ACB court today granted permission to local arms department of the Mumbai police to interrogate suspended encounter specialist Daya Nayak tomorrow with regards to surrender of his service revolver and catridges.
An application in this regard was moved before ACB judge P N Deshmukh, seeking permission to question him. The court allowed Nayak's interrogation between 1100 hrs and 1300 hrs tomorrow in the Bhoiwada police lock up.
Police, in their application, has said though Daya Nayak, then attached with Charkop police station, had surrendered his service revolver alongwith catridges after his suspension, there has been discrepancy in the statement showing the used cartridges.
Daya Nayak is in judicial custody till March 20 in connection with a disproportionate assets case registered against him by the anti-coruption bureau on January 20.
