Court gives green signal for fresh test for SI recruitment

Patna, May 8 (UNI) Patna High Court today dismissed the petition challenging the state government's decision to conduct physical test afresh for appointment of Sub-Inspectors of police in Bihar.

A single bench of Justice Barin Ghosh dismissed the petition seeking to quash the order of the state government for fresh physical test for the recruitment of police Sub-Inspectors.

The counsel of the petitioner submitted before the court that physical test was conducted and was videographed to ensure transperancy of the selection process.

He said a merit list was also prepared of the candidates selected in physical test. He argued that the fresh physical test would unnecessary harass and bring mental agony to the selected candidates.

Earlier, the state government following complaints of irregularities in the physical test had cancelled the test, which was conducted by the previous RJD government in 2005.
