BJP hails HC Court verdict on toddy shops in city

Hyderabad, Mar 8 (UNI) BJP National Secretary and former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya today hailed the Andhra Pradesh High Court verdict directing the state government to allow toddy shops to operate in the city.

In a statement here, he said the state government had last year issued a Government Order (GO) banning toddy shops in the city limits as the toddy sold here was found to have been adulterated.

The decision had thrown thousands of toddy tappers out of employment, he said, urging the government and the excise department to immediately implement the High Court order instead of going on an appeal against it.
