Azad urges youths to shun violence and join mainstream
Bhaderwah, Mar 8 (UNI) Emphasising that establishment of peace was integral for the development of Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today appealed to the ''misguided youth'' of the state to shun violence and join the mainstream.
Addressing his first rally in Doda district after becoming the Chief Minister, he said the atmosphere in the valley was changing rapidly and several youths who had picked up guns were surrendering arms.
''It is a good sign as nothing can be achieved by violence and killing the innocent people. They can join the mainstream and help usher in development.'' Mr Azad said the Centre had given an amount of Rs 1000 crore for taking up development activities in the state and providing basic infrastructure but the funds could be utilised in the most effective manner only with the an improvement in the ground situation.
