Woman molested in Delhi Secretariat

New Delhi, Mar 7 (UNI) A 25-year-old woman was allegedly molested by an employee in Delhi Secretariat when she went there in search of a job, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit informed the Delhi Assembly today.

The incident happened around 1430 hrs yesterday in the General Administration Department (GAD) office on the third floor of the building, she informed the House during zero hour.

The Government has terminated the services of the employee, Ranbir Singh Negi, a supervisor of the cleaning staff. A case was registered at the IP Estate Police Station yesterday.

Ms Dikshit stoutly denied reports that the woman, a resident of Ghaziabad, was raped or that the incident happened in the CM's room.

Earlier, the Assembly witnessed bedlam as soon as zero hour began. Slogan-shouting opposition BJP members stalled work for 15 minutes over the scandal and reports that a trader took his life because of the threat that his house would be demolished by the MCD.

Waving copies of the suicide note, they demanded the Chief Minister's resignation. The CM had no moral right to continue in office after such shameful incidents, leader of the Opposition Jagdish Mukhi argued.

Order was restored after the marshals were called in remove the slogan-shouting BJP members from the House.
