Rajya Sabha adjourned till 1130 hrs

New Delhi, Mar 7 (UNI) The Rajya Sabha was today adjourned for half an hour after members disrupted proceedings over an alleged scam in an irrigation project in Andhra Pradesh and the U C Banerjee report on the Godhra train fire.

As soon as the House assembled for the day at 1100 hrs, TDP members vociferously raised the issue of the scam and yesterday's suspension of over 50 Andhra Pradesh Assembly members in the this connection. They then trooped into the well of the House.

In the meantime, members from the treasury benches demanded tabling of the U C Banerjee report in the House, which was countered by BJP members raising slogans like 'Narendra Modi Zindabad'.

The resulting din forced the Chair to adjourn the House for half an hour till 1130 hrs.
