Pantaloon Retail clocks 70 pc YoY growth in February

Mumbai, Mar 7: Pantaloon Retail's, retail sales for the month of January stood at Rs 156.76 crore, as against Rs 92.26 crore during the same corresponding period last year, recording a YoY growth of nearly 70 per cent.

For value retailing, sales were at Rs 91.49 crore as against Rs 46.06 crore during the same period last year, recording a YoY growth of 98.63. For lifestyle retailing, the company recorded sales of Rs 65.27 crore as against Rs 46.20 crore during the same period last year, recording a YoY growth of 41.28 per cent, according to a release here today.

Same store growth in value retailing for January stood at 25.62 per cent and for lifestyle retailing at 14.39 per cent.

The above sales figures for the month of February 2006 and February 2005 include Shop in Shop (SIS) sale of Rs 7.21 crore and Rs 8.67 crore, respectively.

Pantaloons launched a line by designer Anita Dongre on February 14th which was unveiled in association with the Pond's Femina Miss India 2006 contest.

Also, Pantaloons came in as an associate sponsor for the the 51st Filmfare Awards, held this month.

February witnessed the launch of Shakti, a co branded card offering from Big Bazaar and ICICI Bank, the release added.
