Top Lashker commander killed in South Kashmir
Srinagar, Mar 07: Security forces killed a top commander of Pakistan based Lashker-e-Toiba (LET) in an encounter in south Kashmir today (Mar 07, 2006).
Official sources said security forces launched a search operation following a tip-off that some militants were holding a meeting at Chatugul in south Kashmir district of Anantang.
During the operation, militants fired upon the search party. The fire was returned and in the encounter a Lashker commander Mohammad Sultan alias Khalid was killed.
One AK rifle and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militant.
