Equity markets in a correction mode,RCVL trades 8.13 pc up at Rs 315

Mumbai, Mar 7 (UNI) The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) 30 share sensitive index (Sensex) opened 12 points up at 10,747 points as compared to last close of 10,735 points.

Sensex was trading lower by 12 points at 10,722 points as compared to last close.

Sensex hit a fresh all time high of 10,753 points in the mid morning trade but then headed south touching a low of 10,700.

Most of the BSE sectoral indices were in the red at 1145 hrs.

However, the Midcap stock were doing well with the BSE Midcap index up by 0.84 per cent and BSE Smallcap index up by 0.87 per cent.

Capital Goods and FMCG sector were seeing good gains.

Anil Ambani owned Reliance Communications Venture Limited (RCVL) which was listed yesterday was showing a gain of 8.13 per cent and was trading at Rs 315 on the BSE and touched a high of Rs 317 today as against last close at Rs 290.45 yesterday.

The Nantional Stock Exchange (NSE) 50 share S&P CNX Nifty index opened flat at 3,190 points and was trading down by 12 points at 3,178 points at 1133 hrs.

The top gainers on the Nifty at 1135 hrs were Hindustan Lever, Mahindra&Mahindra, IPCL, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Cipla, HDFC, Tata Chemicals, Jet Airways, ABB and Gail.

Stock trailing on the NIfty were Sun Pharma, Dabur, NALCO, Satyam Computers, Zee Telefilms, MTNL, Infosys Technologies, ICICI Bank, Hindalco and SAIL.

The global crude oil prices softened a bit trading at USD 62.29 per barrel at the the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) which will be a relief for investors in the market.
