Eminent scientists for conference on 'Bio-technology'
Hyderabad, Mar 7 (UNI) Eminent scientists from 15 countries will be among 800 delegates who will be participating in the first international conference on ''Biotechnology for sustainable agriculture and agro-industry'' to be held here from March 9 to 11, Professor M V Rao, Chairman of the meet said today.
Addressing a press conference here, he added, the main objective of the conference was 'to discuss threadbare all aspects of biotechnologies for improvement of plants, crops, livestock, fisheries and microbes in a sustainable environment and an equitable manner.
Mr Rao said the conference would focus on adopting new trends and technologies in areas of agricultural practices including food, commercial crops, medicinal plants, non-chemical farming, animal biotechnology, biopesticides and biofertilizers, aquaculture, biopharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals.
The confernece was being organised by Andhra Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (APIDC) with support from Acharya N G Ranga Agricultural univeristy and Hyderabad Central Univeristy, he added.
