Nagpur, Mar 7 (UNI) Even as 184 of the total 232 resident doctors of Government Medical College&Hospital (GMCH) today joined their striking counterparts in Mumbai, the hospital authorities claimed that the medical services remained unaffected.

GMCH Dean Dr Vibhavari Dani told UNI that 184 doctors extended their support to the striking Indira Gandhi Medical college (IGMC) doctors and went on a strike this morning.

Dr Dani said that termination notices were being issued to the resident doctors warning them to resume duty immediately or face expulsion.

IGNC Dean Dr P S Pendharkar said though the resident doctors strike today entered the ninth day, not a single patient was affected due to this.

''We are providing the medical services round-the-clock, which so far have remained unaffected, with additioal staff being called from various public health centres in the Nagpur district,'' she said.

Termination notices were already being served on the striking doctors, but no action has so far been taken, she added.
