Custody death issue rocks MP assembly

Bhopal, Mar 7: The opposition here in the Assembly today (Mar 7, 2006) demanded an immediate discussion on the recent death of a dalit in police custody in Vidisha district town.

During the zero hour, Leader of the Opposition Jamuna Devi and Dr Sunilam (SP) said a discussion should be conducted on this grave issue through an adjournment motion. A call attention notice was also submitted.

''Atrocities against 'dalits' are on the high in Raisen and Vidisha districts,'' Ms Devi alleged.
