New Delhi, Mar 7 (UNI) Considering the phenomenal increase in the Muslim population in Asom bordering Bangladesh, the BJP has decided to focus on the issue in the state in the run-up to the two-phase Assembly elections scheduled for April three and 10.

BJP Parliamentary Party Spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra said party general secretary Pramod Mahajan, who has been in charge of the elections, informed the BJP Parliamentary Party on the latest and asked the MPs to expose the designs of the ruling Congress, which had no qualms in transforming the demography of the state for the sake of votebank politics.

He also told the MPs about the hidden agenda in bringing back the Illegal Migrants Detection Tribunal Act, which had been dumped by the apex court through back door by amending the Foreigners Act.

The party will make a strategy for each seat and deploy its leaders to counter the designs of the ruling Congress, he said.
