ACCI demands separate trade
Itanagar, Mar 7: The Arunachal Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) has asked the state government to establish an independent directorate of trade and commerce considering the growth of business opportunities in the state.
The chamber has urged the state government for uniformity in collection of taxes besides sensitising tax officials to prevent tax evasion by unscrupulous traders.
It has also called for exemption of tax on life saving drugs, reduction in trading license fee and appointment of more distributors of various companies in the state to end monopoly and unfair trade practices to benefit the customers, informed sources here today.
Taking strong exception to the rampant collection of donations from the traders by various students' organisations, the traders' body warned that such illegal activities would not be tolerated in future.
The ACCI had also decided to hold a joint meeting with the apex students' body of the state for solving the prolem amicably, sources added.
